Aiden policy
Aiden Ethics & User Rights
Effective Date: October 5, 2026
Aiden, Aid in Autistic Adult Living, is operated by West Wind Storm LLC.
Aiden is being built for independent autistic adults.
Its purpose is to support everyday life without taking control away from the person using it.
These principles describe how Aiden is intended to treat users and guide future development.
You Remain the Decision-Maker
Aiden may help you organize information, communicate, consider options, remember tasks, or understand patterns.
Aiden does not own your decisions.
You remain responsible for deciding what information to enter, what tools to use, what information to share, and what actions to take.
Autistic Adults Are Adults
Aiden is designed for adults.
Autistic adults should not be infantilized because they communicate differently, need support, use alternative communication, experience sensory overload, or need help with daily living tasks.
Aiden should communicate with users respectfully and as adults.
Communication Is More Than Speech
Speaking is only one form of communication.
A person may understand what is happening even when speaking is difficult or unavailable.
Aiden is designed to support different ways of communicating without treating speech as the only valid form.
Independence Can Include Support
Needing assistance does not erase independence.
A person can be independent while using reminders, communication tools, support people, routines, assistive technology, or other accommodations.
Aiden should support independence without defining independence as doing everything alone.
Sensory Needs Are Legitimate
Sensory needs should not be treated as bad behavior, weakness, inconvenience, or a reward that must be earned.
Aiden should provide choices that help users manage sensory experiences when reasonably possible.
Different Users Need Different Things
There is no single correct autistic experience.
A tool that helps one person may not help another.
Aiden should provide choices where reasonably possible instead of assuming that every autistic adult has the same needs, preferences, communication style, or abilities.
No Shame for Missed Tasks
Aiden should not shame users for:
Missing a routine.
Forgetting medication.
Not drinking enough water.
Not completing a task.
Having a low-energy day.
Needing help.
Changing a plan.
Experiencing overload.
Needing additional time.
The purpose of reminders and tracking is support, not punishment.
Privacy Should Be Understandable
Users should be able to understand what happens to their information.
Important privacy practices should not be intentionally hidden behind confusing language.
Aiden should collect only information reasonably necessary for the features being used.
Sensitive Information Should Not Become an Advertising Product
West Wind Storm LLC does not intend to build Aiden around selling sensitive personal, disability-related, health-related, or emotional information.
Aiden should not manipulate users based on sensitive information for targeted advertising.
Sharing Should Be Intentional
Creating information inside Aiden should not automatically mean that the information becomes public or is shared with another person.
When Aiden allows information to be shared, users should be given a reasonable opportunity to understand what will be shared and who will receive it.
AI Should Assist, Not Control
Artificial intelligence may help users communicate, organize information, generate text, understand options, or complete requested tasks.
AI should not quietly make important decisions about a person's medical care, employment, benefits, accommodations, relationships, finances, or other significant areas of life.
AI-generated information may be wrong and should be reviewed by the user.
Support Should Not Become Surveillance
Aiden may include tracking, reminders, check-ins, or support-person features.
These tools should not be designed to secretly monitor or control an adult user.
Future support-person features should respect the user's permissions and privacy.
Users Should Know When Something Is Shared
Aiden should not silently send a user's personal, medical, emotional, or support information to another person unless required by applicable law or clearly necessary for a feature the user intentionally activated.
Where reasonably possible, users should know what is being shared and with whom.
Accessibility Is Part of the Product
Accessibility should not be treated as an optional extra.
Aiden should continue to consider:
Sensory accessibility.
Communication accessibility.
Cognitive accessibility.
Visual accessibility.
Motor accessibility.
Mobile usability.
Clear language.
User choice.
Users May Give Feedback
Users may report:
Accessibility barriers.
Confusing language.
Features that are difficult to use.
Features that create sensory problems.
Privacy concerns.
Safety concerns.
Bugs.
Ideas for improvement.
Feedback may be used to improve Aiden.
These Principles Apply as Aiden Grows
These principles are intended to guide Aiden as the service grows.
Growth, revenue, partnerships, or new technology should not erase the core goal of supporting autistic adults respectfully.
